“Kind of an unoffensive green pastel swastika”

June 24, 2010

A friend describes the flag of Portland, OR, thusly:

green field, small white diamond just left of center, very thin white lines quarter it horizontally and vertically, additionally thin white lines lead up from left corner, right from top corner, down from right corner, and left from bottom corner, producing a swirling effect. Straight blue stripes fit on the interior of these white outlines, and yellow-gold ‘L’s on the outside, buffered against the green background with their own thin white borders.
